How long does the accreditation process take?
The process can take up to 2-4 months, for several reasons. Each application is assessed individually (based on the criteria) and non-national qualifications vary in relation to length, level and content. Sometimes fact finding, including contacts with authorities in the country where you qualified, can take a lot of time, especially with countries with which the NSWQB has had no previous contact.
I am applying for accreditation of my non-national qualifications but I am hesitant to send my original documentation. Can I send photocopies instead?
No. The Board only accepts originals. Authenticated photocopies are not accepted. All originals are kept in the office safe and are returned to you by registered post within a week of receipt. Should you be in Dublin, you can also visit the NSWQB office to present your originals. Please call in advance to arrange a suitable time.
