There is no overarching specialised legislation for older people but a number of acts will apply, depending on the situation.
The Minister for Older People and Health Promotion launched the consultation phase of the National Positive Ageing Strategy on 18th June 2009. The Minister said that the new Strategy will set the strategic direction for all future policies, programmes and services for older people in Ireland.
The Law and Older People - a Handbook for Service Providers 1998
