The Disability Act passed into law in June 2005; the National Disability Authority (NDA)is the lead state agency on disability issues and universal design, providing independent expert advice to the Government on policy and practice. Under the terms of the Disability Act 2005, six Government departments prepared Sectoral Plans on disability, which are now in force.
