The Departments of Health and Cooperation and Working Together have been successful in securing funding from the European Union INTERREG IVA programme, to progress a two year cross border project to support and develop the skills of Social Work Team Leaders within the area of Child and Family services to increase leadership capacity in the CAWT partner organisations. The overall aim of the project is to develop and enhance social work management and social work service provision in the EU INTERREG IVA eligible area.

The project will focus on providing development opportunities to Social Work First Line Managers / Team Leaders / potential Team Leaders within the area of Child and Family services to increase leadership capacity in the CAWT partner organisations.
The project will develop on-line resources to assist Social Work Team Leaders with the development of an evidence base to support their practice. These measures will also facilitate more effective communication with colleagues within the CAWT partner organisations.
The project will help to improve service provision whilst increasing capacity for cross border and career mobility.

The project will initially be based in the following areas- HSE Dublin North East, HSE West, Southern Health and Social Care Trust and the Western Health and Social Care Trust.

Cooperation and Working Together (CAWT) is a partnership between the Western and Southern Health and Social Care Trusts, the Health and Social Care Board and the Public Health Agency and the Republic of Ireland’s Health Service Executive Dublin North East and West.
